Featured Treasures 24th April 2010

Congratulations to the five Featured Treasures for this week.  Again, it was so difficult to select just five store keepers to feature, but I am pleased to highlight this collection of amazing works by such a talented group of Zazzlers.

Metal Kirin Illustrations features the fantasy artwork of Teal Newcomb, AKA "thedancingemu", featuring dragons, otherworldly creatures, fantasy landscapes, anthropomorphic characters, mermaids and more.

Audrey Jeanne's Expressions features some absolutely beautiful old world romantic designs.  Audrey's store is filled with original water colored art that has been then graphically designed and altered for a contemporary feel.

Featured Treasures 17 April 2010 - Luna Arte

Visiting Luna Arte was a whimsical adventure into the art of Brazilian artist "Luna" Siffert.  I couldn't help but keep wandering through this gallery, and it was extremely difficult to pick just two pieces as Featured Treasures.  I finally chose the poster 'Vision' as the dreamy quality of this work captivates me, and 'Elfa' as I simply love the style and detail in this sepia artwork.

Featured Treasure 17 Apr 2010 - Joyart

Joyart's  creates art in the Realism style, using oil pastels, oil paints, acrylics, and pencil. Lots of colour and hyper realistic images!  There are so many artistic treasures tucked away in this wonderful store.  The Bubble Blower captures the wonder of childhood so well.  Another featured treasure is this beautifully relaxed pup with such expressive eyes.

Featured Treasures 17 April 2010 - Nature Smiles

Featured Treasures from Nature Smiles Gallery are Cherry Bloosom Postcard, so soft and pretty and perfect for Mothers Day which is just around the corner, and the I'm Not Old Bumper Sticker. which brought a smile to my face when I read it!  Yep, I can relate to that one!

Featured Treasures 17 April 2010 - MVDesigns

On visiting MV Designs store, I discovered some intriguing pieces.  I was repeatedly drawn to these two Featured Treasures, for their combined simplicity and complexity.  The more I looked, at the Vintage Piano Keys Mousepad , the more I wondered about it's history, and the people that had run their fingers over those piano keys throughout the years.  I also loved this clever and quirky Don't Cry Over Spilt Milk Mousepad with it's fun 3D design.

Featured Treasures 17 April 2010 - Good Life Designs

Stepping into Good Life Designs was like stepping back in time. I particularly enjoyed 'Dad's Illustrations', a collection of fun and whimsical drawings from Siffert's childhood. Today's Featured Treasures from Good Life Designs include one of these - Boy with Fishing Rod as well as bright and beautiful Mom's Day Card featuring colourful hydrangeas.

Featured Treasures 10 Apr 2010 - Romanceworks

I was totally captivated when I visited Romanceworks. So many wonderful original works of art are featured here, and it was incredibly hard to choose just two as Featured Treasures for this week. This art poster entitled 'Love Swept' fits so beautifully with the title of this store and the look in those eyes in 'Wild Eyes - Silver Back' makes me wonder what this mountain gorilla is thinking.

Featured Treasures 10 Apr 2010 - Michele Webber Water Colour Artist

Another of this week's Featured Treasures is Michele Webber - Water Colour Artist. 
I was intrigued by Michele's unique style when I visited this store.  Featured today is Shells and Pebbles Fine Art Print - beautiful in it's detail and it brings back memories of happy seaside days.  Also featured is Calm Stream Mouse Pad, invites the imagination to wander along by the stream and day dream.

Featured Treasures 10 Apr 2010 - The Michael Dodge Collection

Visiting The Michael Dodge Collection simply made me smile!  This store features original "Doodle Art" by Michael L Dodge (KLAATUWI) which is clever, witty and whimsical all at the same time.  I just love the quizzical expression Michael has captured on the face of the pup in 'What?' below.  Also featured is the Lunar Dog Park Poster, another of Michael's doodles that makes me smile and feel good, just by looking at it!

Featured Treasures 10 Apr 2010 - Adella & Mella Store

On entering Adella and Mella Store I was immediately attracted by the colourful store front filled with cute kids designs.  Adella and Mella make the most of bold colour in their clever designs as can be seen in these featured treasures from their store - Elephant the Celebrator and My Girl: Three Giraffes.

Featured Treasures 10 Apr 2010 - Shopaholic Chick

I certainly need a new pair of shoes after wandering all over Shopaholic Chick's store.  I think it could be called a mega mart as this store is chock full of clever designs.  I settled on these cool rainbow Pro Keds sneakers as a Featured Treasure for this week, along with this cute Just Married Postcard.  Now I think I need to go and put my feet up!

Earth Day is coming up on 22 April.  We all know the environment and conservation are high on our list of priorities, but sometimes we forget that the little things we do each day can make a difference. Our next Featured Treasure is this bright and beautiful Mother's Day card which really appealed to me as I browsed the gallery of Artform The Heart, and I love the verse on the front too.  Also featured is a pop art 'Thinking of You' greeting card.  'Eye on You' certainly caught my eye!

Featured Treasures - Custom Images by Rebecca Brittain

Custom Images by Rebecca Brittain features many wonderful images of funny pets, wildlife and vintage autos and also Florida-related photography.  Featured today are this Clown Fish Invitation, an original digitally enhanced photograph which immediately caught my attention, followed by Rebecca's cute and fun turtle mousepad.  I love the bright colours and comical expressions of these little fellows.

Featured Treasures - Ceembee

Today I'd like to feature Ceembee who is fairly new to Zazzle and just finding her feet here.  I have an extra little interest in her store, as Ceembee is my sister, and it is she who helped foster my interest in photography.  While her store is still quite small, she has some nice products there.  I particularly love these two items.
